The Daily Breeze recently reported that laser strikes against aircraft are on the rise near LAX, and that two Coast Guard helicopter pilots were lasered and forced to land just last week. LAX has had more laser strikes this year than any other airport in the US, but down in the OC, "Dana Christian Welch, 38, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for two felony charges of pointing lasers at a pair of passenger jetliners preparing to land at Orange County's John Wayne Airport in May 2008."
