OC Leaving the GOP

New, 27 comments

The New York Times reports that in June the percentage of registered Republicans in Orange County "dropped to 43 percent, the lowest level in 70 years." What's happened in the county that's always been "almost defiantly conservative, the anti-Los Angeles, a land of gated communities and great wealth that managed to produce a steady stream of colorful conservative figures"? The paper suggests it's the OC's growing numbers of non-white people. [NYT]
