Large ships might not be allowed to just dump sewage in the Pacific anymore, at least within three miles of the California coast. The Environmental Protection Agency said yesterday they'll ban both treated and untreated sewage dumping "anywhere within the 5,222 square miles of California waters." And fun fact: "More than 90 percent of the treated sewage that is dumped comes from cruise ships." [NYT]
