We had a premonition that a few Silver Lakers would get hysterical about the city's plan to turn an abandoned apartment building into housing for the homeless and mentally ill. The LA Weekly reports that some residents unsuccessfully protested the move at a city council meeting two weeks ago. One outraged local states "that several other homeless facilities have been jammed into the neighborhood," but there's no mention of where exactly those facilities are. A Weekly commenter writes, "I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem if the building was being turned into low-income housing for hipsters." [LA Weekly]
