Blogdowntown has the schematic for the Spring Street park, a one-acre green space planned for what is now a surface parking lot between 4th and 5th streets, purchased by the city for $5.1 million. After complaints from locals about too much concrete in the design (think Pershing Square), more green was added (think Grand Hope Park) by Lehrer Architects LA. The question to be answered now is who will operate the park once it opens around summer 2012. Oh, and commenters are pointing out that the park will close in the evening, similar to Grand Hope.
