Wilshire Boulevard BMW Twins Rising, Opening Next Year

The BRE-owned La Brea lot now may win the prize for being Wilshire Boulevard's biggest bald patch but there is action at two long-quiet sites up the street. Construction is fully underway at the Beverly Hills BMW buildings: the Sales Center at 5070 Wilshire (the more swanky building) and the Service Center at 5151 Wilshire. As some will recall, the Sales Center toppled Bob's Big Boy, while the Service Center toppled Lou Ehlers Cadillac. (Photos of both those two places in the gallery, while here's the LA Conservancy's coverage of both buildings' demolition.) The two new BMW buildings were designed by local firm AHT Architects. A rep for the firm tells us that the Sales Center is scheduled to be finished in the first quarter of 2011, while all you BMW owners should be able to get your new 5 Series serviced at the Service Center by next summer.
