Via Cutler Paving WEST HOLLYWOOD: Didn't someone else complain about this? "I'm all for the beautification of Sunset Boulevard - especially when it's paid for with Federal stimulus money putting people to work and upgrading infrastructure. But what could possibly have justified the removal of those magnificent, majestic 70-80' tall palm trees lining the western end of the strip? They were a priceless treasure, beautiful and healthy, and the very symbol of L.A. that tourists (and immigrants from New York like me) expect to see. They were replaced with little wispy stick trees that look like it could be any street in Ohio or Kansas. Anyone know what the thinking was behind this crime?" [Curbed InBox]
