Here's the latest on the proposed Shen Yun/Fei Tian Arts Center (LASFAC) center: Its backers delivered a letter to the Mayor and City Council two days ago, asking that the Grand Ave site be opened up for public proposals. And a spokesman calls the CRA's initial response back in February "insensitive," according to Li Youfu, spokesperson for LASFAC. Via the Epoch News: “The agency told us we should develop our plan in Chinatown, and stereotypically commented, ‘We thought it would be a perfect match.’” Li said. Li argues it's "not a ‘Chinese’ project" and has "universal appeal." [Epoch News]
