Studio One Eleven and landscape architect David Sabunas designed this urban farm for the New City School, on a vacant lot leased by the Long Beach Housing Development Company. The Long Beach Post reported on the groundbreaking last month and says "The organic farm will be operated by a professional farmer, students, parents and staff. The farm will also offer opportunities for members of the community to participate in sustainable agriculture." The farm will have a windmill, animals, and a tool shed, office, and farm stand made out of shipping containers donated by the Port of Long Beach. ArchDaily provides renderings and adds "there’s even a place to prepare and cook food, and a dining room to share a meal with one another."
