Hey, it doesn't pay a lot, but journalism occasionally has its perks. After writing a blog post about Old Spice's smooth-talking pitchman, Los Angeles Times writer Adam Tschorn was rewarded with a personal video message from the towel-clad character. The 21st-century Lucky Vanous congratulates both Tschorn and his city, complimenting the Lakers win, our proximity to theme parks, and "that tallest building downtown that's round at the top--the one that's always getting blown up in alien movies." Apparently, the actor--Isaiah Mustafa--is being paid by an advertising agency to make these short videos in response to blog posts, tweets, and online proposals.
