Hacienda Heights' "Think of the Children" Crowd Gets Daily Showed

New, 3 comments

Back in January, the Hacienda La Puente Unified school board voted to accept $30,000 from the Chinese Language Council International for Chinese culture and language classes at the district's Cedarlane Middle School. In May the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported the decision "has divided the community, with several residents speaking in opposition at nearly every board meeting." Trendy Hacienda Heights knows that red-baiting is going to be hot in 2010, with a PLA-focused Red Dawn remake out later this year. The Daily Show visited the early adopters recently and investigated the potential for "an army of tiny Maoists."
