The Wall Street Journal reports that Countrywide has agreed to pony up $108 million to settle charges brought by the Federal Trade Commission. "The settlement funds will be used to reimburse 200,000 homeowners who were allegedly overcharged by Countrywide before it was acquired by Bank of America in July 2008." This action follows other Countrywide settlements, including a $8.4 billion settlement in 2008 that was prompted by fraud allegations brought by 11 states, including California. [WSJ]
