The Los Angeles Business Journal interviews new Community Redevelopment Agency head and former Paramount exec Christine Essel, and finds out she left college to write pop songs in Europe: "We got discovered and got some songwriting gigs, mostly in Germany. We released a number of songs as part of the schlagerparade, or hit parade, and we also performed several of our songs." She also says bringing jobs to the city will be a priority for her at the CRA.
