"Multicultural Man," a statue of a man encircled by a globe, arrived at the San Pedro waterfront yesterday, nearly two years after the city received it from LA's sister city in Italy. The waterfront statue had initially drawn criticism because locals feared the naked statue--and his feared big Johnson--would corrupt children. "There was a discussion to cover it at one point," a spokesperson for Councilwoman Janice Hahn tells us. In the end, the fuss died down. Via the Breeze, Councilwoman Janice Hahn says: "Art is controversial and that's a good thing."
