Oldies to West LA: Senior Housing Rises on Pico

New, 11 comments

It'll be a year next month since Menorah Housing Foundation, which builds apartments for seniors, broke ground on its newest project. The busy corner of Pico and Veteran in Cheviot Hills, steps away from epicenter of the anti-Expo Line fervor, is getting 46 apartments for low-income seniors; the county, the city's housing department, and HUD paid for the three-story complex. Van Tilburg, Banvard & Soderbergh, the architects behind proposed area projects like Blvd. 6200 and Movietown, is doing the design. Menorah Housing will set up their offices at the new structure when the apartments open in March of 2011.
