Landmark Greene and Greene in Pasadena

New, 31 comments

This week, we learned that it's not easy being a Greene & Greene in West Adams. It's a whole 'nother story, however, in southwest Pasadena, where this stately home built by the Greene brothers in 1913 has just hit the market. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the six-bedroom, seven bath English Revival was designed for client Henry A. Ware, who apparently had a fireplace fetish. In addition to the four Batchelders, the 5,168-square-foot house has many original fixtures; butler's and baking pantries; a back porch; maid's rooms with baths; and a backyard playhouse. Asking price is $2.35 million.--Pauline O'Connor
