Deadlock on Trash

New, 1 comment

Yesterday, the City Council's Planning and Land Use Management Committee deadlocked on that controversial plan to allow a truck-driving academy to open on an old landfill that the city had previously promised would remain open space. Those in favor argue that the 600-acre Lopez Canyon landfill in Sylmar won't be ready for kids and dogs for at least 15 years; those against the facility want the open space to stay that way. [LADN]
