For a story called "Small Town Adventures," Los Angeles magazine rounds up a hodgepdoge of 10 neighborhoods deemed walkable and small town-ish, and capable of offering some tasty restaurants: Monrovia, Los Feliz, Whittier, Hermosa Beach, Eagle Rock, South Pasadena, Leimert Park, Pacific Palisades, Calabasas and Montrose. If you like underdogs, maybe you'll be drawn to South Pasadena, and its nine-hole miniature golf, all part of a "3.5-square-mile town founded in 1888 right below the Rose City," and an area that "has been suffering an identity crisis ever since." Each entry for each city contains pertinent information for first-time visitors.
