One-Bedroom in Hancock Park's El Royale

New, 9 comments

There's a nifty feature in the May issue of C magazine about Hancock Park's iconic El Royale. Designed in 1928 by Garment Capitol Building architect Douglas W. Lee, the 12-story Art Deco stunner has long been been a favored haven for celebrities—bet Nic Cage wishes he'd never left—with a years' long waiting list. Recently, however, El Royale's residents have been feeling a bit uneasy, following the death of longtime owner Martha Scott and a change in management. Which may explain the appearance of this posting on Craigslist for an available one-bedroom. Rent for the 800-square-foot unit is $2,100.Pauline O'Connor
