Last week, the American Institute of Architects announced the winners of its national housing awards, a list which included local firms such as Pugh + Scarpa Architects, which won for their Step Up on 5th, a Santa Monica complex for the homeless and mentally ill, and Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects, behind Formosa 1140, that cardinal-colored condo project.
