The Ralphs supermarket chain is being investigated for overcharging customers on "prepackaged and weighed products," according to NBC4, which reports that test purchases from 14 Ralphs stores saw 27 violations of overcharging. According to the release, in at least one case, "the ice glaze on frozen products was included in the net weight." There was also an egregious fried chicken overcharging. Ralphs says they will conduct their own investigation. [NBC4]
