At the 24 Hour Fitness at the Arclight you can zone out on the Cinerama Dome while you Stairmaster, at the LA Fitness in Studio City you can watch the cars on the 101, and at the Downtown YMCA you can stare at the suits exiting happy hour at Nick & Stef's. But the new seasonal gym at the Annenberg Community Beach House probably has all of those beat. The Santa Monica Daily Press reports that Wallis Annenberg, a woman unafraid to cut a check, has just given $125,000 to Santa Monica so they can set up a summer gym on the Beach House's second floor. (That's on top of the $27.5 million she paid to make the beach house happen in the first place.) The paper says that "After visiting regularly last summer, Annenberg decided a gym was exactly what the new community center needed." The gym will have cardio and weight machines and possibly a trainer, and will be open from June 19 to September 6. It'll cost $7 a day or $5 with a pool pass, with season and half-season passes also for sale. The gym equipment will spend its off-season at Santa Monica's Memorial Park.
