The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the Arquitectonica-designed Performing and Fine Arts Center at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park is just about finished. The $66 million center, which'll open in July, according to the paper, is just one of numerous bond-supported new building coming to the campus. As for the work by the Miami-based architecture firm, the buildings "were designed to resemble 'pieces of granite being pushed out of the earth,' project superintendent Terry Bottorff said."
