A worried reader points out the notice currently on the web site for the Big Blue bus: "Changes to fare types and increases to prices have been submitted to City Council for their consideration. A vote on the proposed changes is scheduled for the April 27 City Council meeting. If approved, fare increases and changes would go into effect August 29, 2010." Click through to see the hikes, but here's an example. The cash fare for boarding the regular line would go from $0.75 to either $1.25 or $1.50, according to the site. The changes were covered a few weeks ago by the Santa Monica Daily Press, which noted a previous vote on the controversial hike had been delayed.
