So Long Beach's Naples is about to fall into the sea: "Portions of the sea walls protecting Naples Island in Long Beach from the ocean are 'in imminent danger of collapse' and could send homes sliding into the water if not replaced soon, officials said Monday," according to the LA Times. The city will decide today on a plan for keeping Naples from falling into the sea. The deteriorating walls were built in 1923 and rebuilt after the city's 1933 earthquake.
