Like moles emerging from a long journey, some of those Chapter 11 buildings are starting to wander out of the darkness of bankruptcy. Here's Bedford Parc and Bedford Promenade, a Baldwin Hills two-phase development which filed for Chapter 11 protection last summer, eventually being purchased by Los Angeles-based investment firm Karlin Real Estate. The development will come out of bankruptcy in about two weeks, according to Matt Schwab, managing director at Karlin. If the project has been selling this whole time, prices have dropped since last summer: Right now you can live nearish that planned Crenshaw line for about $199,000 to the mid $300,0000s.
