The Santa Monica Daily Press reports that the Big Blue Bus system will likely see fare hikes next week, but Santa Monica College will not be charged for providing its students and staff with unlimited access to the bus system. Among those calling sour grapes: "...the proposed fare increases, though, could cut into bus ridership rates in Santa Monica, exacerbating traffic and making it difficult for some people to get to work, said former mayor and Move L.A. Executive Director Denny Zane." [SMDP]
