Over the weekend, the LA Times looked at how Caltrans is demolishing about a quarter of a barrier on the Long Beach freeway for a new federally funded project, despite the fact that the $26-million barrier project was just finished in 2007. "The tear-down process, in a stretch of freeway near South Gate and Bell Gardens, is costing $111,000," according to the Times, which digs into the story. [LAT]
