If 2010 LA just isn't nightmarishly hellscapey enough for you, you might be interested in next week's auction of Blade Runner materials from the collection of Syd Mead, the film's production designer, including pre-production pieces and a promotional light-up umbrella. Before the auction Mead will talk with the film's producer and Frances Anderton on topics including, "the film’s prescient vision of a Los Angeles future as viewed through the lens of the present-day cityscape."
