Gawker has interviewed Fred Garbutt, the tennis court contractor who, with his mother, recently bought the International Banana Museum, formerly of Altadena and Hesperia. The museum is moving to North Shore on the Salton Sea (home of Albert Frey's North Shore Yacht Club and not a whole hell of a lot else), where it will be located next to a liquor store owned by the Garbutts: "We've tried to think for the longest time of ways to bring in customers off the highway. So I thought we ought to put that down at the store—that'll bring people in. Paint the store yellow." [Gawker, previously]
