The Desert Sun reports that the Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs--a spa memorable for numerous reasons, including the fact that actor Tim Robbins' famous mud bath scene from "The Player" was filmed there--is facing bumpy times. "The owner of Two Bunch Palms Resort & Spa is facing legal action by his lender, and the Desert Hot Springs resort was placed under receivership this week. The hotel is open, and its 110-plus employees were told they would keep their jobs until matters are sorted out with the resort’s owner and Bank Midwest, said Kirby Payne, the court-appointed receiver overseeing the property." According to the paper, the lender is claiming outstanding payment of $38.8 million.
