Jobs Vs. Polar Bears

New, 29 comments

The Mercury News reports that in the short-term, there may be "modest" job losses (higher fuel prices, costly upgrades), as a result of California's global warming law, which requires the state to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2020. But the long-term impact on job losses or growth is still unknown. GOP gubernatorial candidates Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner want the law suspended until economy recovers, and are behind a proposed ballot measure that says as much. [Mercury News]
