The Daily News reports Metrolink received a new collection of "crash-resistant rail cars," from South Korea, cars designed to absorb impact in the front-end, protecting riders in the passenger cabin. Via the News: "The purchases come in the wake of a string of fatal collisions with cars and freight trains on Metrolink tracks in recent years that claimed more than 35 lives, including 25 in the September 2008 Chatsworth crash.
