Ok, we know we're just part of the problem now, but here it is: The Hills participant and extreme makeover victim Heidi Montag "helped create and executively produce" that Malibu High School reality show that's been keeping 'Bu parents up at night, according to its other creator and executive producer, Lexi VonderLieth. Won't someone please think of the children? The show sounds like MTV's Laguna Beach Redux--it'll follow "the lives of several Malibu High School students"--but here's the twist: some of the footage will be shot by the kids on Flip cameras. VonderLieth, who grew up in Malibu and graduated from Pepperdine in 2007, told the Malibu Surfside News "This is all in hopes to keep it as real as possible...The technological advances since I was in high school have changed so much and its amazing to see these kids interact through all the different mediums...At night, all these kids ichat, IM, FaceBook, Twitter, and it’s amazing to see the process they go through on a day-to-day basis." She says they're currently editing 14 hours of footage down into a presentation tape, and that they're "in discussion and in mid-meetings with two networks."
