Downtown's Piero II is Alive, Silver Lake's Other Music Festival

New, 9 comments

DOWNTOWN: Well, lookey here: on 6th and Bixel in City West, dust has kicked up near the site of Geoff Palmer's Pierro II mixed-use project (mixed-use is a stretch as the retail spaces in Palmer's other buildings are empty). Rumors abounded recently about this project rising from the dead, but now there's proof thanks to a reader who provided the pic and writes, "some new construction vehicles and supplies not there last week." To refresh memories, Piero II is the faux-Tuscan development that, thanks to a lawsuit, recently wriggled its way out of providing low-income housing. [Curbed InBox]

SILVER LAKE: If you just can't wait for Sunset Junction this summer, the Sunset Jubilee, a two-day music and art festival, happens on May 22 and 23: "20 trend-defining music acts, multi-disciplinary art, local artists and crafters, exquisite food from local restaurateurs and various cultural enclaves in the Silver Lake and surrounding communities" is how it's described to us. It takes place on Myra, between Fountain and Santa Monica. [Curbed InBox]
