The pieces headed to Venice
Maybe declaring the prefab fad dead was a mistake, since Venice-based architect Jonathan Davis's pieceHomes will install a new addition/guest house in LA next week. According to a press rep for the firm, two units - a master bedroom addition and free-standing guest house will arrive at an existing, newly remodeled house and placed in the rear yard of a house on Marcasel Avenue in Mar Vista* (not Venice!) next week. This is a prefab addition, it seems, and Davis' company calls these eP, or Extra Pieces. Piece Home's Facebook page has been chronicling work on the Venice house. And as pointed out previously, Venice seems to be ground zero in LA for prebab homes.
