At UC San Diego, first there was the off-campus "Compton Cookout" on February 15, then last week someone hung a noose at the school's library, and last night a Ku Klux Klan-like hood made from a pillowcase was found placed on a statue outside UCSD's main library, reports the Los Angeles Times. "The hood, with a hand-drawn cross inside a circle, was found about 11 p.m. Monday on the statue of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as the children’s book author Dr. Seuss, after whom the library is named."
