The Whittier Daily News reports the Huntington Library has received a grant from the National Science Foundation to document the aerospace industry in SoCal. A temporary exhibition will go up at the San Marino-museum in 2013. "One of the goals of the researchers is to understand why aerospace took off in Southern California and what that meant for the culture here," reports the paper, adding that there are few collections dedicated to the study "with the exception of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum."
