More from the Downtown News' development wrap, a piece which checks in with plans for the Wilshire Grand hotel's replacement, but notes develpment is a ways off. Ditto on the Daniel Libeskind project planned for 1340 South Figueroa, a 43-story tower that's being developed by CA Human Technologies, a joint venture of two Korean groups. But no surprise on either of these delays given that banks aren't likely to be lending on big projects anytime soon. Via the paper: "Developer Thomas Properties Group is still working to secure entitlements for a $1 billion redevelopment of the Wilshire Grand hotel at 930 Wilshire Blvd. Financing information has not been disclosed, and there is no current timeline for razing the hotel and replacing it with a residential, office and hotel complex. Owner Korean Air announced the project last year. Preliminary plans by AC Martin Partners call for a 45-story tower with approximately 560 four-star hotel rooms and 100 residences, plus a 65-story Class A office tower." Plans for architect firm AC Martin's planned hotel/condo tower and office tower development were announced last April, while the Libeskind project gained approval from the City Council last July.
