HOLLYWOOD: Sunset and Vine, that new apartment tower in Hollywood that we named building of the year--and the one with a $25,000 a month penthouse--- is having a private opening party next Thursday night. The woman off the invite is also featured prominently on one of the billboards on the building. Girlfriend's got a strong gaze. [Curbed InBox]

PASADENA: This Sunday* at the Art Center College of Design (in the Hillside Campus Ahmanson Auditorium), there's a free screening of the documentary "Visual Acoustics," the movie about Julius Shulman. "The documentary Visual Acoustics is narrated by Dustin Hoffman and explores the monumental career of architectural photographer Julius Shulman, who died on July 15, 2009 at the age of 99. Shulman combined the organic with the synthetic and captured the essence of urban design and nature in his photographs." More. [MCM Twitter]
