With Palo Woods Center, South Bay Still Apparently Believes in Retail

New, 7 comments

Ground broke today on a $14 million redevelopment project in Harbor City, between Torrance and Long Beach. A Kmart and two other retail spaces that together comprised nine acres will be transformed into the Palo Woods Center, a new shopping center at 902 West Sepulveda Boulevard that'll offer a slightly more upscale Ross Dress for Less, an LA Fitness, and two more yet-to-be-named retail spaces. The developer, Watt Commercial (they're behind many shopping centers around the city), is also working on improving landscaping, signage, and lighting around the new center. In a press release, Watts says they have more projects up their sleeve: "These redevelopment projects have two goals: add value to the communities where the centers are located, and enhance the company's portfolio in the process." Plan on being able to do your crunches and purchase your affordable fashions by November.
