It took an unprecedented amount of cooperation to ensure the new Gold Line extension from East Pasadena to Glendora moved forward as it has, according to a Pasadena Star-News editorial. With a groundbreaking planned for June and an opening set for 2013, PSN heaps praise on Metro's new CEO, Art Leahy, and Chairman Art Najarian, for getting their act together and working with local politicians. The editorial also notes contractors are already bidding on the basket bridge that will traverse the 210 freeway in Arcadia; that will be the first work undertaken. [PSN]
