The mayor is off to D.C. to lobby for billions in federal funding for the Wilshire/Purple Line subway extension, reports the Daily News. Villaraigosa, traveling without other city officials, his looking to complete his 30/10 plan, which calls for building 12 rail lines in 10 years instead of 30. The Daily News says Mayor V wants to place the shovel into the ground at Wilshire/Western before his second term ends in 2013. [Daily News]
