An oil rig was set up at Third and Fairfax this week to re-clean and re-cap a 1910 well originally closed in 1928. It's like looking back in time to the twenties, or forward in time to a dystopian future. The drilling is prep for that AF Gilmore retail and restaurant project, which the Park La Brea News reports is expected to start construction in early 2011.
