Westwood, you're officially cleared for a 29-story tower. Today, the City Council approved developer Kambiz Hekmat's proposed building at Wilshire Blvd and Gayley Ave, an approval that allows the Robert AM Stern-designed building to rise as either a 250-room hotel or a 125-unit condo project. At this point, everyone involved wants it to be a hotel, and in January, the city will consider the developer's request for a temporary hotel tax exemption, Councilman Paul Koretz's office tells us.
