The Daily Breeze reports the Redondo Beach City Council doesn't want its citizens unknowingly walking into acupuncture shops that are actually fronts for brothels, and so the city "voted to temporarily ban new massage parlors and acupuncture establishments in an effort to snuff out prostitution at the businesses." It's a safety issue---those hookers don't know how to needle ya. "Police Chief Joe Leonardi said the moratorium, effective for 45 days, was needed as an urgency ordinance because customers can be hurt if they are treated by improperly trained practitioners."
