Heads shook a bit when the LAPD talked about their crackdown on downtown jaywalkers, and now, via the Los Angeles Times, comes word the LAPD is recruiting downtown waiters to do their part in battling crime. "The LAPD wants servers to give patrons a friendly reminder to hold onto their electronic devices or put them away," writes the Times. "Just a friendly reminder to a customer to 'watch your phone' might save that customer from having a bad experience at your business," says one LAPD lieutenant. [LA Times]
