If you remember how new tract homes in Victorville were destroyed by a bank, here's a similar scenario out of Florida. A couple in South Sarasota decided to demolish their 13-year-old residence because they believe the expense of renting out their property won't offset the cost of owning it, and because the land is worth more than the house, reports the Herald Tribune. "The property is in a prime spot so when the market does improve something will be built on it. The only question is when...the best way to look at the property is as an investment and the best way to hold onto that investment is as raw land."[Herald Tribune]
