DOWNTOWN: As mentioned yesterday, Old Bank District stalwart Banquette and the neighboring bookstore will be leaving to make way for a new restaurant. Lazy Ox's Josef Centeno is opening an ode to the baco, which he says, "...looks like a gyro, has the feel of pizza, you eat it like a taco."
HOLLYWOOD: Citizen Smith has shuttered, leaving a beautiful empty space on Cahuenga (a former needle exchange that was nicely revamped), in the middle of gentrification-central. The closing stemmed from the operators' divorce, Eater reports.
LOS ANGELES: Curbed is not the only one naming the best neighborhoods. Eater is asking LA's top foodies what the best hood to eat in is, and it wasn't all Downtown and Culver City.
LOS ANGELES: Eater picks out the best places to get full on New Year's Eve, and the picks spread across the entire city (and county) and are thankfully devoid of tourist-magnets and douche-favorites.
