Men around town may be sprouting facial hair for Movember, but some of the city's medians are also looking a little furry. Until a few weeks ago, medians on Highland Avenue, Burton Way and San Vicente Boulevards were a grassy mess due to the city's budget deficit, which killed funding to maintain the medians, reports the Park La Brea News. After several councilmembers pooled their money, the medians are "now back to their clean-cut appearance, with San Vicente Boulevard being the latest to be trimmed." [Park La Brea Press]
